Re: [lace] more lace on Kate?
Hello Susan and everyone The yoke does look lace-like doesn't it? The other has lace trim. Both retail at - hm, GBP 500.00 plus, and they are from a ready-to-wear, I don't imagine the lace is handmade even at that price ;) We won't see very many around the local shopping mall... will we? but you never know. Someone is probably producing knock-offs as I write. Was there lace at the Greek festival, too? On 7/8/11, hottl...@neo.rr.com wrote: > Hello All! [lace] more lace on Kate?
Hello All! Just saw photos of the Calgary visit & did I see a lace yoke on a white with blue diamonds cowgirl shirt? How about lace insertions on an all white version? There are commercial entities that would kill for this kind of product placement!! Perhaps lacemakers have found a new royal champion? Still enjoying the lacy fashion show while licking my fingers from the food at the Panegyri Festival (Greek Orthodox Church). Oompah! Re: [lace] Music and Lace
Nathalie, Yes, although this may not be what you had in mind: the connection I see between [bobbin] lace and music is the interweaving of threads/musical lines to make something ornate, especially in the music of J.S.Bach, Vivaldi, Albinoni, Gabrielli, etc., or the great pieces of polyphony such as by Thomas Tallis. Not sure what to make of other kinds of lace or other kinds of music... Hello Nathalie and everyone I understand that David wears lace when he conducts - hopefully he'll see this and write about it for you! On 7/8/11, Nathalie wrote: > Lace in the opera? [lace] Music and Lace
Dear all , Would there be someone among you who can see a connection between lace with music? Lace in the opera? Lace on conductors or composers? Was lace important when people listened to music? How was lace connected to music? Romantic? Status? What about the 19th century? 20th century? Who wore lace in connection to music? Hope to hear from you. :-) Nathalie - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here. For help, write to arachne.modera...@gmail.com. [lace] The power of arachne, I hope
I have great hopes that arachne will live up to its usual high standard as the world beater help line regarding lace issues. I am shortly to teach for a week, and one of the students from the Bristol area has to collect her pillow and bobbins from a teacher in Clevedon. Unfortunately she has made a mistake copying the phone number and doesn't know the house number. All the information we have is that the teacher is called Meryl (or maybe Meriel) and she lives on Kenn Road. If anyone could help, please contact me off forum. Many thanks Jacquie in Lincolnshire - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here. For help, write to arachne.modera...@gmail.com.
