IOLI (International Old Lacers, Inc.) has an annual convention, usually in early August. It is put on by a local lace guild each year. This summer it's being hosted by guilds in Minneapolis/ St. Paul. Last year it was in Portland, the year before in Los Angeles, etc. It's not a trade show, organized by a convention-organizing company in the same city year after year. It was in Rockford (not far from Chicago) a few years ago. There may be smaller get-togethers in the Midwest US, but I don't know about any. Someone may chime in with more info. Robin P. Especially the one showing the start with the fringe. I have the thread, purchased from Lacy Susan last year at convention and somewhere I have the pattern bought many years ago. Susan had sets of threads and I chose the autumn colors. Now if I can put them together maybe I will finally have a lace scarf. I made the link into a tiny one with a preview window.
