Re: [lace] Sue's Clock

2012-10-16 Thread Branwyn ni Druaidh
I had a day of running away from dental issues today, so had the desire to
look at pretty things and find the direct link to the clock face before I
left for the dentist. :\

Bronwen
who spent three hours in the dentist's chair today, and will probably have
to go back tomorrow as one of the fills she did cracked while I was eating
a french fry. :\

Thanks, Bronwen, for the link. We technophobes thank you. Sue, the lace
is beautiful! WHat a clever idea and a great execution. I had no interest
in a lace-faced clock, but now you've got me inspired.

Thanks, both of you, for letting us see it.

[lace] crochet term question HELP

2012-10-16 Thread Donna Fousek
Hi all,

I have a crochet pattern from Japan. the pattern is in symbols only
and no translation.  My question is which crochet lingo is used. Is a double a
US standard or European?

2012-10-16 Thread Sue Babbs
double crochet and double trebles exist in US and European terminology, but
mean different stitches in each of them!

See the list on this site for instance:
http://www.yarnfwd.com/main/crochet.html

If you send me the symbols, I will see if I can interpret them for you. I
presume you are used to US crochet terminology

[lace-chat] Japanese Brain Age Test

2012-10-16 Thread jeanette
.

My brain age is 31!! I will not try again in case that was a flash in the
pan!!

JAPANESE BRAIN AGE TEST

See if your brain is as old as your body, or (perish the thought) OLDER!

Follow the following instructions since the game is in Japanese.

1. Touch 'start'
2. Wait for the screen to display 3 - 2 - 1 3. Memorize the number's
position on the screen; then click the circle from the SMALLEST number to
the BIGGEST number.

REMEMBER 0 IS THE LOWEST NUMBER

4. At the end of the game, the computer will tell you the age of your brain.

Good luck!
