[lace] Need help with Brigitte Bellon pattern
Hi Vila, I made two scarves out of this book. The book is only in German , it is at first difficult to get what she is saying but once you get going it works fin. I have checked the pattern now, Attach the two parts of the pattern and use it as one repeat. Once you turn your pillow remember that you have to sew pairs in as you go along. If you could explain exactly how you got stuck I'll try to figure it out for you. If you need a translation of the introduction I'd be happy to help you out with it too. Miriam in Israel I'm making a second attempt at the third pattern in Brigittle Bellon's Kloppelmuster Fur Schals Und Tischlaufer. The first time around I got the pattern started and figured it out until I turned to go back and attach the lace as I went on that part of pattern. There I got stuck. Since I had some other deadlines coming up I cut it off the pillow and set every thing aside for a while. Now I want to go back and master what stopped me before. First question, Is there a translation of the book anywhere? I've used Google translate for bits and pieces, but that can be more amusing that accurate most of the time. Second question, Is there a working diagram for the patterns? That would help a lot. Or does someone have some suggestions or hints. For me it's hard to figure out where the pairs go in the beginning by just looking at a color picture of the completed lace. [lace] Wolds Lacemakers lace meeting 11th May 2013
Hello All Wolds Lacemakers will be holding their lace meeting on Saturday 11th May 2013, 10.a.m. to 4.p.m. at St Johns Church Hall, Clough Road, Hull HU6 7PA United Kingdom. The entrance fee is £1.50 for members and £4.00 for non members. All are welcome.There will be a short demonstration on Wrapped in Style at 1.30pm which will show how to wrap gifts with bows and how to make flowers with ribbon. There is a car park available and a nearby supermarket sells sandwiches etc, but you can bring your own. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day. We will have a practice pillow for anyone wishing to have a go at lacemaking. Advice is always on hand for those who may want a little help with their chosen piece of lace. This is also an opportunity for members to renew their subscription to the Society, membership is £7.00 or for those to renew their membership.
