Some of it can be kept for lending newcomers, some can supplement the library or create funds for supporting the group's activities. Robin P. Re: [lace] Bucks
You have the two smaller bobbins to indicate the thread for the lace, the two thicker bobbins for the gimp If you look up a pattern you will have the thread size for the pattern, all is worked in silk so you have den as thread size (pattern 1 says 24 pairs in silk 90 den, 2 1/2 pairs in 900 den for the gimp, + 1 pair for the corner Alix from luxembourg. - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here. Re: [lace] New at LaceCurator.info
In my opinion the flowers in their pot shall only signify to represent a Flower-pot lace. They could be a lot of different flowers they are in a pot not in the water the swan is swimming. Or the swan is on land looking at the flower-pot. Or has somebody put the pot with the flowers into the lake. Or is the swan a soul of a girl like in Swanlake. Ok, I am stoping now. Re: [lace] looking for pattern
Does anyone have a copy of Flight of Eagles by Anny Nobens Slegers that they might be interested in selling? Please contact me privately. Thank you, Charlotte Moore Anna Binnie l...@binnie.id.au wrote: Never ever through anything out. Firstly give or sell them to other lacemakers in your area. Many lace guilds or groups have a mechanism to recycling old magazines / books etc to newer members be it a sign at a lace day saying 'free to a good home' or selling them for a small cost and using the money for library books. Secondly many OP shops will accept them and sell them on to interested parties. my knitting group always goes there for extra knitting needles and old knitting patterns. Thirdly donate them to a local school or church group for their annual fair, most have a secondhand or preloved table with books and other bits and pieces. I once bought a huge selection of tatting patterns at a charity fair (these were taken from magazines and on the surface did not look good but the patterns were lovely). Forthly offer to send out a list of what you have (ie we contact you privately) and if we want them then we can pay you the postage for your magazines. Finally there is ebay Anna who has just returned from a long weekend away in Canberra. Do they end up in the recycling bin or do you give them to other lace makers. I have so many magazines and I want to down size a bit. To tell the truth many are already old fashioned. There are so many new ideas around that these magazines are just passe.
