[lace] Imagine......Lace at Waddesdon
Today I was privileged to visit the Imagine...lace at Waddesdon Manor. It is a wonderful exhibition of all types of lace set in the magical surroundings of Waddesdon Manor. All pieces have been inspired by artifacts within the house. As a member of Isis Lacemakers I took part in making an entry inspired by the famous elephant automaton. It was great to see our own Isis Elephant displayed so favorably in the State Bedroom. The house is open until October 26th. [lace] Thread raffle
Nice surprise today, when I picked up the package of silk from the post office on my way home from work that Miriam Gidron raffled a while back. We had been away for about a week in Hilton Head so the mail was on hold. Not sure when it arrived in Crystal Lake, but when our mail was delivered yesterday, there was a card to go pick it up. It looks very fine and I will check the size against what I need for my Ipswich class this summer. It is an interesting way that it is packed into the canister. I have never seen that before. It looks like a film roll inside a canister for a camera. The thread pulls out from the metal roll. Thank you Miriam so much for doing the raffle. Smiling although it is raining cold drizzle outside and maybe snow tomorrow. I am so looking forward to moving to California. Re: [lace] Thread raffle
What you describe seems to be the Chantilly silk from a Danish seller. I use/used this in all my classes with Lia Baumeister. It's not boiled silk like it was used in former time. It's fantastic to work. Have fun with it. Ilske - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here. I too bought some of this silk thread from Lia Baumeister a couple of decades ago (still have it) but have to confess that I haven't used it yet! Re: [lace] Thread raffle
Yes, I think it is the same silk. The canister says Bodil Leif Christensen and the slip of paper inside says 3 ply unboiled nature silk no.250. It is very fine even for a 3 ply. [lace-chat] social media
Social Media Wedding Daughter: Dad, I am in love with a guy I met on a dating site, we became friends on Facebook, and talked a lot using What's app. He proposed via Skype, and we discussed this on Viber. Are you giving us your blessing for our marriage? Father: Wow fantastic, I say: Say yes via Twitter, have your wedding night via Webcam, order children from Ideal World. And when you get sick of him: sell him on eBay! Agnes Boddington - Elloughton UK To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace-chat y...@address.here.
