[lace] Exhibition " Lace in 100 years from now "
Hello everyone, A designer of lace for garments and accessories holds an exhibition in Tokyo. A map from the world will be displayed with messages from everyone who wants to join. This means not only lacemakers but everyone who knows the concept "Lace". The notes or drawings or photos will have as theme "Lace in 100 years from now " . The designer received already the most interesting messages. But she'd love to have more. Hence why I post here. I am thinking of a lace image of 100 years from now. Will it be made on the moon? Will people still wear lace? Greetings from a lace lover in the present - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here. Dear Stevie, This is most interesting, and thank you for calling it to our attention. Are we supposed to send our messages to you? (You gave no address where we could see the Japanese designer's works.) [lace] Lace displayed at Sacramento and Adelaide
Thank you, Bev. First, the teachers' displays at the IOLI convention in Sacramento California USA, which will enlarge a little if you click on Photos. Return to click on Timeline choice at top of page and cruise down the right. It looks as if the Hungarian lace makers have won 1st Prize at the OIDFA Congress in Adelaide Australia. There is no national identification with the wine label (theme of contest). Tokaji is a famous Hungarian wine sometimes mentioned in historical novels and motion pictures. Sweet; served with desserts. I like the lettering, and especially the spider webs used as a ground. What do we see in old wine cellars? Spider's webs! And, this is the symbol of our Arachne. Lots of reasons to look at it. Below, you will see some other laces from Malta, Ireland, Slovenia, etc. that were displayed in Adelaide Australia.. https://www.facebook.com/iolilace Jeri Ames in Maine USA Lace and Embroidery Resource Center In a message dated 8/5/2014, walker.b...@gmail.com writes: Hello Sherry and everyone Perhaps they are too busy yet to write...I did find some excellent photos of the teacher display at https://www.facebook.com/iolilace Bev in Shirley BC, near Sooke on beautiful Vancouver Island, west coast of Canada - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here. Thanks for the URL Jeanette. What amused me was the comment on the site: "No actual lace was harmed in the making of this case". Noelene, near Canberra noel...@lafferty.com.au Here is the tiny URL - it is something special - the case I mean! http://tinyurl.com/qexz4cx Jeanette Fischer South Africa - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here.
