I love this piece of Alex's! I was lucky enough to see the *second* version "in person" in Philadelphia, and learned the whole story! Alex wove such a fantastic story that I came home and wrote an article entitled, "The Revenge of Venus", which was published in the IOLI Bulletin. (Sorry, can't recall which issue! Honestly, the piece is SO elaborate and huge that I can just imagine how devastated Alex was to have it lost (or stolen). But that she worked it a second time is just mind-boggling! Hi Alex, I did not have a link to your piece. If you have it on the web somewhere, perhaps you could put a link up so everyone can sem the similarity.
