[lace] presentation of lace
I am in the middle of a flurry of bridal pieces, either no weddings are happening or several come at once, like we used to say about busses in england . I have just prepared one piece to go off to the bride in a nice gift box I bought some years ago which fits just fine, but am working on a bigger piece and know I dont have a box the right sort of size. I am interested to know how most of you present and often need to send items off. Santina Levey passed away peacefully last Saturday. Santina was a founder member of The School of Historical Dress, and without her the school would not have happened. We will all miss her enormously. There will be a memorial gathering and committal organised by her family, in Leicester on the 15th September. If you would like more details please write and let us know. We will also be arranging a memorial event and celebration of Tina's work and life, in London in the New Year. I was happy to receive the Arachne Lace #87 today in its normal format. Lace #86 came as a .txt attachment and was in plain text. None of the links were available and I found it difficult to read as the messages seemed to run together. Very sad to hear of the passing of Santina Levi. Condolences to her family and friends. Her History of Lace is a magnificent book, and I believe she had a hand in the Le Pompe book, and the âHowe toâ part at the back! The Happy news is the challenge for both wire and fibre lace that Lenka has put up on her website. What a great idea. Thanks to Jeri, and this list â I now have a copy of Gil Dyeâs latest book on Early Lace. Like all the others in the series â it is excellent. Regards from Liz.
