[lace] RIP Marianne Stang
Dear fellow lacemakers, Last Thursday, 1st October, 2020, one of our favourite German lacemakers, Marianne Stang, passed away. I am sure that there are many lacemakers who will have known her longer than the 15 years that I have, but I will miss her very much. When I met her in Pärnu in July, 2005 at the first Estonian Lace Festival that I attended, I had no idea of what sort of person she was, but soon discovered that she was friendly, kind, generous, tenacious and hard working, but always humble & cheerful. I hope that she has left behind many lacemakers who have fond memories of her. Clare - in the same way we refer people to The Lace Guild, you could refer your friend to IOLI to ask if they have anyone in that area.
