[lace] Proposed Visit
Hello Arachneans, DH and I are planning a trip to San Antonio TX in April stayiing about a month, I am wondering if there is any 'Lace' activities in that area, I dont think I have ever seen an entry from there on Arachne but wonder if they have an IOLI branch in the vicinity? Otherwise can anyone tell me of anything else of interest in the area. Dear Arachneans, I have a request. I have a picture of a lovely torchon cross which was made available to Arachne members in about 2001 by a Member who had a web page called 'Jean's Bobbin Lace Page' I have tried to access the address on the bottom of the page where I have the picture to no avail. [lace] Smoothing Bobbins
Hi Lesley, I find if I wish to smooth something as fine as a bobbin, the green kitchen scourer either the one on the back of a sponge or in packs of 3 without the sponge work very well as they do not leave the scratch marks that sandpaper can. It also gets into the corners very well without damaging the profile of the turning. Hope this helps..
