place in Bloemfontein, which is a central venue, from the 24 - 26
October for lace courses, the registration for the weekend is on the
Friday Afternoon 26th followed by a reception, meetings and
demonstrations and tours on the 27th, with a wind down on the Sunday
with departure on Sunday afternoon.

[lace] Lace Clock

2012-10-11 Thread Dot and Clive

Hi Sue ,
Coming very late into the clock discussion, I made a round sunflower
face for a clock, bought a seperate clock movement which are readily
available at most craft shops or clock makers, and then had it box framed
and they made the box deep enough for the hands etc.

If you like I can email a picture since we cant use webshots any more.

Cheers

[lace] Brass fan frame

2011-01-31 Thread Dot and Clive

Dear Arachnids,

This is the 4th time I'm trying to send this post , somehow they are not
getting through, hope this one makes it!

I have posted some pictures of a fan frame I bought some time ago and
have decided this is the year to do something about it. It is of brass
coated cast metal and is about 40 cm wide, 24cm high [standing] the
leaf is 40 cm on the outer edge and 17 on the lower edge and 10cm wide.
I had thought to make the leaf with three oval cameo type holes to put
photos in of my then granddaughters in it, I had 3 at the time, now
there are 5 so that won't work.

I would like to hear your ideas of how you would maybe use it, hopefully
with lace in it. I dont promise to use all the suggestions but would
like to have more than my own to work with.

Pictures are on Webshots, Arachne 2003, under Dot Goetsch

Thanks

[lace] Fw: Lace and ceramics

2008-03-31 Thread dot and clive goetsch

Dear Spiders,

I recently celebrated a milestone birthday. My dd gave me a special
present of a bowl decorated with the two loves of my life, lace and roses.
I have taken some pictures and would like to post them if someone could
tell me how and where. I dont have a web sight.

Thanks in anticipation.
