[lace] Wooden bobbin winder adapter
The wooden adapter described by Ms. Young from Ontario sounds like the adapter that was available from Robin Russ Handweavers before they went out of business. I have one. It was made for the smaller swedish bobbin winder that wound quills but if you have the larger bobbin winder that winds plastic bobbins for handweaving, the wooden adapter can be made to fit by drilling a larger diameter hole where it fits onto the bobbin winder. This adapter works well for Thumpers, South Bucks, Continental and East Midland Bobbins. It was made to squeeze the bobbin and had a sliding ring to hold it tight.
