Subject: notts bobbin lace society
Nottingham lace is the generic term for machine lace made in the
Nottingham area, and especially the lace made on a Leavers machine.
Nottinghamshire does however have a large number of Bobbin Lacemakers, we
meet every month around the city.
Nottinghamshire Bobbin Lace Society will be staging a large display at the
Ruddington Framework Knitters museum between 14th July and Christmas, so
plenty of time for you to visit.
Members will be demonstrating when ever possible, they will be there
15th - 23rd July.
Just got back from a visit to the Hollies where we spent a few hours going
through their prickings, especially the pope and Sievewright collection.
We were allowed to photocopy any we liked for our own use. Magic!!
Anita Wilkinson (she teaches at Brackenhurst) will be in Sacremento middle
to end of June, if their are any lacemakers out there who would like to
meet up for a chat you can get in touch through me.
Best wishes
Heather Harris
