I belong to a local spinning and weaving group and justify any lace making
I do there as 'weaving with sticks'.  I only do bobbin lace and think this
is a very relevant definition

Many thanks to Jeri, Russell and Nancy for their suggestions and advice
about places to visit on my upcoming trip - you have all been very helpful
and given me a lot to think about

I am going to a dance event in Torquay, have family in Dorset and London
but am prepared to travel to lace meetings/events/fairs if I can -
obviously depends on transport etc.

[lace] UK trip

Hi

I'm coming to the UK for an event on the 8 - 10 September.  I'll be in the
UK for about 3 weeks and wondered if anyone knew of anything like lace
meetings or lace fairs around this time. We've not booked our flights yet
and I'm keen to find out what is available in a lace sense while I can
still be that bit flexible

I'm going to the UK for a family wedding in July and wondered if anyone
knew of any lace days or events were on about that time.  Coming from the
other side of the world I have to make my bookings way ahead and I would
like to work my dates to include any interesting lace thing thats on.

[lace] Coming trip

Hi

I wrote to the list a week or so ago about a coming trip to the UK and
asking for ideas about where to find lace.  I have been overwhelmed by
lovely people giving me lots of ideas.  I'm working out how to fit all this
in and will write to everyone who wrote (off list) when I'm a bit more
organised but I just wanted to say a general thank you to you all for your
help.  Lacemakers are such wonderful people!!

to see as much lace and lace related stuff as I can fit in. Does anyone
have any good ideas of where places I should visit.  I'm spending a few
days with a cousin in Dorset and she has promised a trip to Honiton and
Beer (apparently an old lace town).  We're there about the 3rd to 12th I
think

The main reason for our trip is a cruise on the Rhine and Moselle rivers
including a trip to Bruges so if anyone knows about places a person with a
lace interest should visit on that leg of the trip it would be very much
appreciated
