lace threads. I gently tear one end apart so as to get the needle off the
thread. It works like the dental floss things that I can't think of the name
of, and is reusable. Craft and fabric stores sell them.

[lace] Beadalon beading needles for sewings

2016-08-29 Thread hottleco
Hello All! Just wanted to clarify which needle I used, so I posted a photo to
Flickr. One pack is fine, the other heavy--I used the fine. I believe the
needle that Cindy referred to is another type. The Big Eye needle that I'm
familiar with is more like two wires stuck together at each end. The entire
needle is split down the center longitudinally & you can put yarn, ribbon,
thick thread etc. thru because the opening is very large. They are also
several inches long--maybe 4" or so. I have used both types, but used the ones
I posted to Flickr for my egg trail. Cindy is quite right, a good bead shop
will stock both kinds so you can pick the one(s) that work for your project.
As I type this, now I wonder if this would be a terrific way to load beads on
lace thread?? H. If someone tries this, please let us know the results!
Sincerely, Susan Hottle USA
