What I found disconcerting with the demo was the lack of how to support. Unless you already have been using their software, there is no way to really figure out how to do things. For instance, how to change the curve of a fan? How to undo,etc. I have the demo but besides putting dots, I am really sort of lost and unable to do anything with it...which has not increased my desire to invest in the whole package very much. I'd add to Ruth's recommendation - go to the Ilsoft website and download the demo version of Lace8 - I'm sure it's complete except for printing and saving, but Ruth can confirm this - and try before you buy. The features are listed on: http://crafts.ilsoft.co.uk/pages/Lace8.aspx and the download is on: http://crafts.ilsoft.co.uk/pages/Downloads.aspx I have no connection with Ilsoft, but really like their lace design program and have upgraded as each new edition came out. I'm currently using Lace8 on Windows 8.1 - a big jump from my almost-dead Windows XP system.
