[lace] Looking for patterns of Bobbinlacer

2004-01-31 Thread Celtic Dream Weaver
I was just looking at some pictures of lace displays on some website which right
now...I don't know what the website was but I saw a lace picture of a bobbinlacer.
Does anybody out there know where I can find patterns of bobbinlacers done in
bobbinlace. I would love to make something like that. Thanks for whatever info you can
give to me in advance.

La Encajera (Spanish lacemaking magazine) has a couple of issues with
lacemakers in bobbin lace. Issue No 6 has a simple mouse lacemaker with
pricking, Issue No 16 has a lacemaker on the back cover, but no pricking,
and issue No 18 has Spanish lacemaker with pricking.

I don't know if there are any others - they're just the issues I've bought.
Back issues can be ordered through their web site:

http://www.realce.es/la_encajera/encaing.htm

The contents of each magazine is listed along with an English translation of
the editorial comment by clicking on the picture of each magazine.

2004-01-31 Thread W & N Lafferty
Sherry,
It could have been my site you were looking at - it has a picture of a Russian tape
lace lacemaker I
finished a short time ago.

The pricking was adapted from a book Russian Tape Lace Patterns - the original had two
lacemakers,
facing each other, using the same pillow, which didn't make sense to me, so I did a
bit of scanning,
and cut and pasting, and ended up with the single lacemaker.

Good morning Sherry,
There is a pattern for a bobbin lace maker in the book Nyplatkaamme,
Let's make bobbin Lace by Eeva-Liisa Kortelahti. It was published in
1988, ISBN 951-99922-3-5. I am not sure if it is still available but
shoulf be in the IOLI library if nowhere else. It is worked in linen
thread and I have seen it reduced in size and worked finer. It is
quite straight forward to work and I think very pretty.

2004-02-01 Thread Carol Adkinson
Hi All,

Just to mention - the Lacemakers' Circle sells a pricking of a lacemaker at
work. It is a Honiton pattern, but I am sure it could be enlarged so that
lacemakers can see what they are doing! It is designed by Carol Lee, a
previous Chairman of the Circle, and if anyone wants a copy, I can tell you
where to get it!
