Yes, cone rollers allow square hanky edgings to be done on a roller. I have to admit that I don't remember reading about fans being done on one, but why not?


If you take a fan pattern and roll it up, keeping the top and bottom edges lined up, you get a cone. If you make a roller to fit that cone shape, then it should be possible to make the fan lace on the roller if it is a straight lace type of lace. It wouldn't work for Honiton, tape laces, or perhaps Beds, but Torchon or Point Ground laces should do fine.

Hmmmm......I can see another project to go on my "to do" list.
