Hi all, As kids we always put our shoe in the window and in the morning there was chocolates in it. We did this for about 10 nights before Christmas. My parents are Danish so it must be a tradition there/then! It is, we used to do that when I was a kid, allso we used to have a wallhang, with 24 rings for 24 small parcel, like a sweet, pencil etc. the motiv was off cours winter, fatherchritmas etc. and embroid. another version is he told the father to put the girls' shoes/socks (it varies) outside - and the next morning there were gold coins in the shoes/socks. I like to think that is the source of the tradition of putting gold-foil-covered chocolate coins in the children's stockings at Christmas.
