What a really neat piece of work. I had plans to do more of this but the years and the list of pieces i want to work gets longer. Not enough bobbin making lace hours in a day:-) My own current piece is now only a day or maybe two from completion. A small piece and not sure whether to put it into a coaster or a small frame!! [lace] Finished Project!
I'm coming out of lurking to share my finished project. I started a small mat of Hungarian Tape Lace, Lousie Colgan's class at GLLG Spring Fling. I finished sewing the end to the beginning, and have posted a picture on my blog. The mat is still full of pins. Who knows what mistakes will show up when it comes off the pillow. grin I used 9 pairs, #80 DMC tatting cotton, and the mat is about 5 square. I am so pleased with myself, this is the most complex project I've ever done. I learned so much from Louise's class, she was a wonderful, patient teacher. It's very pretty Lenore - and there don't seem to be any mistakes - if there are they are insignificant. Re: [lace] Finished Project!
Dear Leonore, your Hungarian Tape Lace mat looks very pretty. I am sure everything will be fine when you take the pins out. I also like your Milanese sampler. It, too, looks great. I only recently discovered, that I have done Milanese patterns already and that I really like them and want to do them again. Congratulations on your finished projects. ON another tack I 'll be visiting the Orkneys in May and wonder if there are any lace makers there? I would love to see what you are doing.
