[lace] lace and a bad wrist?

2005-04-13 Thread Helen
Hi,
Does anyone out there with bad wrists (arthritis/old breaks/whatever) have
any problems when they try to make lace? I badly broke my wrist at the end
of October last year and am still slowly getting back to normal. Every so
often when I twist a pair of bobbins it twinges a bit. I have got a
hospital appointment on Friday, but felt it might be easier to ask all of
you than to try and explain bobbin lace to a doctor with very little time
to see me :-)

i guess you could take a few bobbins with you to show the gesture ...

dominique from grey Paris . it seems we won't have both the sun and spring
temps today . it was so lovely yesterday : lunch in a garden under pink
blooming trees (not cherry trees though ...) and the sun warming my back .. my
idea of paradise ...

Have a look in the archives under RSI for ideas as wrist problems have been
discussed at length in the past. As you say it's only every so often it's
most likely the muscles and tendons just getting themselves back in condition,
and it's a case of finding the best angle of hand/wrist to pillow to minimise
it as far as possible.
