[lace-chat] horoscope
My DH laughs at me when I read my horoscope. I am always amazed that it fits my day but he says you can always make them fit. Well, yesterday I was going to be filmed making lace for tv and I read my horoscope in the local paper: "Your chances for advancing a special interest you've been harboring for some time is better than usual. Without being self-serving, push for what is personally important to you." Now that fits my day and life, especially about lace. Before the interview I did ask, at least three times if I could mention the lace convention we are arranging , and did give all the information during my interview. Harry Porterfield, the tv reporter, said that if it was cut there would be a link on their webpage. I watched tv and at the end I was complaining that they had not mentioned it, when my DH shushed me because the anchorman was talking about the convention. I did watch it again and I was pleased with what the studio team said about lace making and the convention. [lace-chat] Another odd item on ebay
Sharon: item is a Tuffet. It sounds as though she thinks a tuffet is a type of lace pillow.> I emailed the seller and told him/her three reasons why it isn't a pillow and added it's a footstool, also known as a tuffet. Got an email back saying thanks for the information and he/she would change it. Got a strange idea of changing it. Re: [lace-chat] Another interesting item on Ebay
Hi Malvary Here is another interesting item on e-bay. Item No. 190210152964 is a stiletto and a bobbin both on the same spangle. Not very easy to work with. I seem to remember pinning bobbins together by their spangles in a recent workshop!! I haven't had time to do any lacing since I've been home, but I will send you a photo when it's finished. I thought that perhaps the stiletto was in fact a second bobbin with the head broken off. I guess it still could be and it was ground down to make a stiletto. I think you are right - and I don't think they were originally joined in this way. Even though the beads are old I think it's a fairly recent respangling job.
