Re: [lace-chat] Baby Boomer Quiz - 15
The Milky Bar Kid is a long running advertisement in Britain for a chocolate bar - Milky bar by name! While the child playing the part changes every few years he is usually fair haired with specs and is wearing a cowboy outfit. That last probably best demonstrates how long the basic idea has lasted. As far as I can tell little boys do not play cowboys and Indians any more. David wrote: I too, have never heard of Dorrie Evans. A quick google search revealed that she was a Marvel Comic Book character http://marvel.wikia.com/Doris_Evans_(Earth-616) Dorrie Evans was once a reluctant girlfriend of the Human Torch, she would constantly take second place to Johnny's adventures with the Fantastic Four. After their break-up she would get married and have children. I'd never heard of her either - only very occasionally had 'American' comic books if they were included in our Christmas parcel from my aunt who lived in Canada. I think I got about 14, but I'm too old to be a baby boomer ;-) Malvary in Ottawa where it is a bright day, but quite cool (but after all it is November). [lace-chat] Baby boomer quiz
David said This is NOT a pushover test. It's a Baby Boomer era test! And probably specifically an AUS or US one at that! I guessed Remember one Flick and they're gone because it made most sense, but have no idea where it cames from. Never heard of Get with the strength bank on â¦â¦.. (the Wales) or Guess whose Mumâs (got a Whirlpool) At that point I gave up. Guess whose Mum goes to Iceland is a relatively recent UK ad, but that wasn't an option! Jaquie You should have persevered. While I agreed with your general comments even a non Beatles fan like me could identify the Christian names of the four Beatles ;-) I managed 10 right and one or two of those were complete guesses. Glad to see you are safely home from Newport. hope you had a good drive back.
