Well, who's going to tell him/her? Of the four larger items I can make out the knitting row counter and stitch holder, but can't work out what the two other things are. Jean in Poole To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace-chat [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [lace-chat] ebay funny
I had a series of amusing emails with the seller, who had to agree with my observations, but said she was basing her description on someone whose dear grandmother has recently passed away! She didn't know what to do with her listing, but since I hadn't answered her, she apparently decided to change it. Good idea! The title is now Knitting Aids? and the description: Frankly I don't know what they are for. I was told they were for lace making but since then a very kind lady informed me I was incorrect. Some of the items are very old. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemitem=3230280929category=114 Jean in Poole To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace-chat [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace-chat [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Well, now she's saying that they are knitting? tools because a kind lady told her they're not lacemaking tools. What I see is a (red) row counter (looking a bit like a cotton reel on the left-hand side of the picture), a punch for making holes in fabric for eyelet embroidery, a stitch holder for knitting and I think the thicker gadget with a metal pointy bit is probably for punched rug making. I agree - the things on the right are pins to hold hair rollers in place! Ruth Budge (Sydney, Australia) http://mobile.yahoo.com.au - Yahoo!
