I submitted a patch a few months ago (though not on this topic), but 
never got any response. And IIRC someone on #lartc told me that it was 
currently inactive/unmaintained due to lack of time or something like 
that. Never bothered to resend it. ;-)

From the information provided by the original poster it doesn't seem
very clear that he knows the existence of lartc.org, or maybe he has not
done any kind of searching for information regarding what he is supposed
trying to achieve.
