Re: [Ldsoss] Software for people who can't use MLS?
I would think the church would have something worked out. Why doesn't he just call church headquarters and see what everyone else is using? I thought other countries were using the old MIS and FIS. Ah, yes. It's all coming back to me now from Mexico. Members don't all meet in nice buildings with clerk's offices, do they? They may just rent a hall. Conditions may not favor the MLS-style setup.Tom On 9/8/06, Slide [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I'm going from second hand information from my brother, from what Iunderstand they don't even have a computer and their clerk/branchpresident/everything office is the size of a broom closet, which makesit hard to have one. RE: [Ldsoss] Software for people who can't use MLS?
As I said before, the ward I attended in Holland used an Excel spreadsheet for tithing ;). It should be fairly easy for your brother to do this in Excel. Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Name 1 xxx Name 2 That's take care of all the needs ;) And you can totalize the rows and columns for a check. I would think this question would be more appropriate for the ldsclerks mailing list. http://www.MormonsToday.com/ldsclerks/ On 9/8/06, Slide [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I'm going from second hand information from my brother, from what Iunderstand they don't even have a computer and their clerk/branch president/everything office is the size of a broom closet, which makesit hard to have one. While I agree it has to do with clerking, I was looking for an open source solution, that is why I brought it up here, but I will check with them as well. Re: [Ldsoss] Software for people who can't use MLS?
I am currently the ward clerk in the English ward in Taiwan. We are still submitting tithing and membership related issues by hand to the Taiwan Church records office. They have two people there that manage all the units for the island. The word is Hong Kong has been pushing it out to the units there as a test. Taiwan should begin to bring it to each unit here by the beginning of next year. I know of at least one other branch clerkin the Asian area that is using Filemaker to manage his unit's membership records and tithing. Any accounting package can do the tithing side. Just setup all of the members as customers and record all of their donations as sales receipts.
