[leaf-user] Bering on CF on soekris net4801

2007-04-13 Thread Franck
Hi,

i've a problem with net4801 and bering on CompactFlash (CF)

1/ I'm installed latest bering uclinux on CF on net4801 256Mb
I'm changing initrd.lrp to boot on CF and had serial support

On boot, net4801 like this :
1 seconds to automatic boot. Press Crtl-P for entering monitor
L 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 etc ..

2/ I've another net4801 128Mb (3 years old) with bering installed in a
production environnement.
I've copy all CF content from old net4801 to new net4801 CF and the result
is the same :(
L 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 etc ..

What could be the solution ?

[leaf-user] iperf and net4801

2007-07-10 Thread Franck
Hi,

i've little problem with net4801 and network speed. With iperf, max speed
is 30bmps.

PC1 (10.1.1.251) <-> eth1 (10.1.1.254) <-> eth0 (192.168.0.99) <-> PC2
(192.168.0.51)
network is 100Mbps full

iperf from PC1 client to PC2 server :

sudo iperf -c 192.168.0.51 -i 3

Client connecting to 192.168.0.51, TCP port 5001
TCP window size: 16.0 KByte (default)

[ 3] local 10.1.1.251 port 56225 connected with 192.168.0.51 port 5001
[ 3] 0.0- 3.0 sec 10.4 MBytes 29.0 Mbits/sec
[ 3] 3.0- 6.0 sec 10.4 MBytes 29.0 Mbits/sec
[ 3] 6.0- 9.0 sec 10.4 MBytes 29.0 Mbits/sec
[ 3] 0.0-10.0 sec 34.6 MBytes 29.0 Mbits/sec

I've bering-uclinux 3.0.2 on CF with shorewall for routing

Is it possible to increase network speed because 30 Mbps is very small :(
Perhaps with sysctl ?

All feedbacks are welcome

Regards

[leaf-user] Coipe bering another CF

2007-07-10 Thread Franck
Hi,

i've a little problem.

I've a CF 128Mb memup (DEV) with bering 3.0.2 with Soekris 4801.
CF boot fine with hda1

I'm coping all contents of CF 128Mb memup (DEV) to CF lexar 128Mb (PROD)

Before copy, i'm manking this :
mkfs.msdos /dev/sdb1
syslinux -s /dev/sdb1
dd if=mbr.bin of=/dev/sdb bs=512 count=1
and i copy all contents

When CF lexar 128Mb booting, hda is now hdb and nothing work. I've kernel
panic

Is it possible to have always HDA ?
