Are you aware that there is a massive multi-vendor vulnerability in
SNMP right now? It's claimed to be one of the biggest or widest
spread vulnerabilities to date. This vulnerability is in practically
everything that uses SNMP.

So check out that snmp first perhaps Charles can shed some light
on this...

[Leaf-user] simple snmp doc?

2002-02-22 Thread Pete Dubler

Well, it's time to enhance the wireless lrp...(now that the doc and
packages are complete)

I need to get snmp up and running so I pulled a copy from Charle's site
and installed it. Now, I need to get it up and running, but after
several hours of googling, I have not found any simple, to-the-point,
doc. There are plenty of posts by people who have had the same dilema
as I am having, but can't find anyone who has documented how they
resolved the delema. SO, okay, help me out and I will once again write
a cookbook on how it is done, and make it available to the masses and
hungry throngs... (I will build it into a doc on the big picture: see
Goal below)

(Goal: monitor total eth0 usage and usage by node on the private net via
snmp on the LRP and MRTG on my redhat server. Also, produce ongoing
95th percentile statistics to understand usage from the perspective of
how we are billed).

Thanks, as always,
