Re: [leaf-user] Multicast problem
Hi Eric, I should have read the copyright license more carefully... I am currently using mrouted to forward multicast packets between different subnets (financial quotes and corporate TV). I could have used a bridge, but in my case this would have implied ebtables (each subnet has its own DHCP server). The _really_ interesting thing is that I'm facing a strange problem; even if it seems to run correctly, I always get a syntax error during the parsing of its config file (/etc/mrouted.conf) only if something is un-commented (also when using the sample provided with the package!). The compilation procedure didn't give any error... it seems that could somehow be related to yacc (I also downloaded, compiled and used byacc under ucilibc to build mrouted, with the same results). In this situation, mrouted correctly forwards packets between the connected subnets, but it's impossible to set up DVMRP tunnels... I'll have to spend more time working on this issue. I'm not sure about enabling these options by default, it will add size to the kernel and I think only a very few people will use it. An other possible problem is that the mrouted source is not GPL-ed. But can you give some feedback about how mroute can be used, for what purpose, etc? The bug in lrcfg.back is solved a few weeks ago, the config.lrp package in http://leaf.sourceforge.net/mod.php?mod=userpagemenu=91017page_id=51 contains the fix. --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies. Hi Eric, thank you for your help. I also had to define CONFIG_IP_PIMSM_V1 and CONFIG_IP_PIMSM_V2 (is it possible to have this options enabled by default in linux/Bering-2.4.24.config?). If you think this could be interesting, I'll send you the sources and/or the lrp package. I think that there still is a small bug in /usr/sbin/lrcfg.back (look at http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=4160450).
