[leaf-user] sh: can't access tty; job control turned off

2003-05-27 Thread M Lu
I just upgraded Bering 1.1 to 1.2, using CDRom. I did modify the files
needed for Bering and also I added the directory 'terminfo' into 'etc'
directory so 'vi' can work, and maybe some minor changes to '.profile'
(comment the command 'lrcfg' at the login)

Now when I ssh to the router I got the following error:

-
Bering firewall 2.4.20 #1 Sun May 11 18:53:34 CEST 2003
sh: can't access tty; job control turned off

Type in help if you are really lost
-

and I cannot do Ctrl-C (it will kill the terminal) or press 'q' in 'more'
anymore.

What's wrong did I do and/or what config files, places should I look into?

Thank you.

M Lu

Depends on what you have modified... inittab? Possibly changed something extra
in .profile? It's really hard to say w/o knowing exactly what was changed and
exactly what is there. You might want to try it w/o the extra changes first.
Some configuration files need a blank line (CF) at the end, other don't,
possibly you have run into this error unknowingly as well.
