I thought that someone mentioned that the Radio Leeds feed is NOT broadcast on the Internet, no matter where you are? It's only available over the airwaves. So you need to rely on some benevolent soul streaming it from their radio (e.g. the MightyWhites channel on UStream). Re: [LU] NON- LU PM study tips
Eric, Not sure where in the world you are at the moment? That would provide direction one way or the other. If you want to work in the UK as a PM, you have to have (99.99% of PM jobs advertised call for it) PRINCE2 (P2). Most of them never state which level (there are three; Foundation; Practitioner Professional) - and some recruiters wouldn't know there were different levels. If you want to be able to put P2 on the CV - go for the foundation level. If you do decide to do it - contact me - I can give you all the learning materials etc, but you'd have to book an exam with someone else. Passing a P2 course will not make you a PM - it will simply teach you a method and that is it, nothing more. If you are not working in the UK (or Australia; India; Netherlands; Denmark a few other countries) then don't bother with P2. PMP is useful if you want to work in the US or for a US company. If you were in the UK, I'd suggest you went for the APMP from the Association for Project Management (http://www.apm.org.uk/APMP). The PMBoK (PM Book of knowledge) you mention is the aide to attaining PMP - the APM have one for the APMP too. Happy to talk about it more offline. I am currently running a PM consultancy company - we used to do training too (P2), but got out as it's a mugs game. 25+ years experience running projects all over the globe. cheers, Andy C On 7 August 2013 02:04, Eric B barl...@gmail.com wrote: I ve decided to diversify and look into Project Management. Re: [LU] NON-LU: Techy help - UK Proxy
I'd been meaning to post this the other day when people where asking about creating proxies so as you're asking ask well here's an option that will work for everyone, and no need to be an internet techy or any other sort of IT guru. Just go to http://watch-bbc-iplayer.com. The website is Expat Shield and let's you set up a proxy so you can iPlayer and the other players for UK channels. The downside is as it's free you have to put with a bit of advertising at the start when you want to watch something (you can pay for a premium ad free version) and I know some people whose anti-virus programme went nuts when downloading the software. It does work though but I only enable it when I need to use it. There are other options I'm sure others may come up with and I've got a couple as well but need to check some details first. guy On 7 Aug 2013 at 20:23, Peter Castlehouse wrote: All knowing list peoples - do we have an internet techy out there who can advise how to access a UK-based proxy server for us continental and foreign listers, so we can hook into it, then follow the link to Radio Leeds and get the comms from the matches that aint deemed worthy of satellite broadcasting? ozPete ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org MARCHING ON TOGETHER ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org MARCHING ON TOGETHER

[LU] tonight and this afternoon games
Nice to see Diouf getting 75mins under his belt today v Burnley in a behind closed doors game - he was scheduled to play only 45 so the fact he did another 30mins in the second half must bode well for his fitness - he also scored the only goal of the game albeit a penalty I think if we are going to keep the diamond then Diouf may be the best option at the head of it, and this will allow Ross (if he is not off to Boro or Blackpool) to play alongside Hunt / Smith / Varney / Poleon as the second striker. Bring in the Austin that started last season for us (as opposed to the 'dead on his feet' Austin of the last few games) alongside Murphy in the middle with Green at the bottom and things are looking decent(ish) As for tonight I did expect Ashdown to be in nets as he was last season for these games but since he played v Burnley I now think Paddy will get the nod (his 600th game in total) Like many I look forward to going to these games to see some of the youth / fringe players and was hoping that Mowatt, Lenighan and Dawson would all play some part. Lenighan played this afternoon so I doubt he will be in the squad but there remains a chance for Mowatt and Dawson, both of whom are pushing for places in the 1st team squad proper. Of course Brian may opt to let Brown and / or Norris get a run out to keep them fit or put them in the shop window. (Pugh is injured) There have been very few crowds over 10k - Brum, Preston, Rotherham and Hudds the only ones so far and 3 of them being involved in 'derbies' so our expected crowd of around 13 to 15k whilst poor in some ways - especially at £12 a ticket- will be very healthy for this stage of this competition Dave PS Thanks for those who pointed out that FL72 referred to the 72 League teams - a total nonsensical piece of branding and renaming as far as I am concerned but there you go - thanks ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org MARCHING ON TOGETHER

Along the similar lines... I was going to subscribe to Al Jazeera for the coming season as they have the rights to all 380 premier league games and will show them all. They also have championship and most of the decent euro leagues and England games! And it's about£120 a year! However the cheeky EPL have insisted they remove it from the hotbird satellite which is the one we get easily in the UK. So I would be forced In to a 2m+ dish for nilesat which isn't going to happen. However someone suggested I look at iptv which I know nothing about. For £400 I can watch a variety of Arab channels (nice) and all Al Jazeera channels. Now price wise its not that different to sky but with more to watch, no bt sport etc... But I know nothing about it, is it legit? Does it work?? Anyone got it?? [LU] Chesterfield report
A bit of a mixed bag this one but at the end of it all we got through and we did it in front of the biggest crowd of the round over 17,000. As this crowd proved and were happy to sing a few times 'that Chelsea b@stard is out of our club' - the general feel in and around ER is such a change from last year. We played a bit of a mixed team Kenny, Lees and Pearce kept their places as did Green so the centre spine of the team was the same, around these were Drury, Thompson, Norris, Brown, White and up front Poleon and Smith. We started brightly and took the game to them Smith skying a shot that even stayed in play, Poleon had good turn and shot and we all looked forward to the breakthrough and maybe an easy night. Then things went wrong and in a fashion that we have been used to since McAllister - a straightforward run and cross into the box, the centre forward unmarked rose and headed home - same shit , different day. However this team and this crowd are made of sterner stuff these days and we rode the set back well and got back in control of the game and equalised from an unpredicted source as Micheal Brown (again the subject of ironic chants) picked up the ball 25yds out and hammered home a beauty, right into the corner. A few minutes later and Poleon was through one on one with a defender and with Smith alongside him. Poleon proved he is a goal scorer when instead of playing the easy ball he put it through the defender and hit it through the keeper and in. The less said about his goal scoring dance the better - it needs work shall we say. They nearly equalised when the forward went round Kenny and his shot was goal bound but 2 defenders had not given it up and were on the line , the first of these Pearce cleared it. The other move of note, showed that White will never be Paul Scholes (sorry RW) - he was through on goal in a similar fashion to the Poleon goal, he had Poleon to his left and Smith to his right. He had 3 options, the best would have been to go it alone and score, the second best option would have been to slide it through to Poleon who would have scored, he chose the 3rd and put it through to Smith. Now I cannot envisage Smith scoring many one on ones with his feet and he certainly was not going to score this one since the ball from White was abysmal and gave him no chance of getting to it - a real opportunity missed. Second half we failed to get going really and our two worst players on the night White and Thompson almost gave it away, a terrible misplaced pass from White led to their winger going past the ineffective Thompson (he is not a full back) and getting to the edge of the box when Thompson tripped him. If this had been a Sky live game no doubt we would have seen lots of replays and different angles to see if it was inside or outside the box - luckily for us the ref decided the original foul was outside although the lad fell inside the box - another let off. McDermott did not like what was going on at this point and brought on the big guns, McCormack and Murphy for White and Norris. Ross came on to chants of 'he's not for sale' and after a slow start the 2 of them began to take a strangle hold of the game and we looked to see it out, creating a few half chances and looking fairly comfortable. Then with 10mins to go we decided that we had done enough and just sat back and let them come at us. We nearly paid for it as a lovely flowing move by them ended with them hitting the post - our 3rd and final let off So another 2 1 victory and another win after going a goal down As I have said White and Thompson were poor, Brown and Drury both looked Ok Norris was average at best. None of these will be first teamers on a regular basis - Peltier, Warnock, Murphy, Austin, and McCormack will fill their spots. Lees and Pearce both did some good bits but both looked cumbersome with the ball at their feet and we will not have many clean sheets with them as our centre back pairing. Kenny was his normal self, good stops, poor kicks, never coming out for crosses. He will gain us a lot more points than he will cost us The most interesting pick was Smith and Poleon up front. Smith is huge and strong and unlike the likes of Crouch he does jump his full height, and unlike other tall forwards (Joe Jordan springs to mind) he does head the ball rather than just let it hit his head. Therefore he made some lovely headers, some at the goal, some intelligent flick ons and some clever lay offs (as per Saturday). On the floor he is slow and sluggish and I am not sure of his skill level. He may be the new John Pearson or the new Lee Chapman. He may well split opinion but on first impressions I like him and think he will do well for us if we can play to his strengths. Poleon - he can be the new Beckford - he is a striker not a winger. Like Beckford often did he scored one but could have had 3 or 4 and most of them he made for himself. He has that arrogance and

Re: [LU] NON-LU: Techy help - UK Proxy
Maybe this could be a way of getting something going. First off, I am not one to suggest we do it this way hereI am simply suggesting how it is doe elsewhere, and maybe there could be a movement toward getting something going in not only Leeds, but in England period. We have a comparable sport here in Canada...the National Hockey Leaguecomparable only in support, so please bear with me. Each team has a radio station that is given the rights to broadcasting play by play, home and away. The radio station pays top dollar to get those rights. It also includes allowing the station to broadcast on the internet and smart phones, etc. Surely, there is bidding for radio rights to Premier and Football League gamesthen why not demand access to those games on the internet too. There's something missing if that is not the case. - Original Message - From: Steve Gillen steve.gil...@ntlworld.com To: Leeds List leedslist@gn.apc.org Sent: Wednesday, August 7, 2013 10:00:16 PM Subject: Re: [LU] NON-LU: Techy help - UK Proxy To Pete Castlehouse As has been mentioned by myself earlier - Whilst Radio Leeds broadcast the match commentary on match days they DO NOT allow internet access to the co0mmentary, not matter what country you are in (including UK) it is simply not available. There are other options I'm sure others may come up with and I've got a couple as well but need to check some details first. guy On 7 Aug 2013 at 20:23, Peter Castlehouse wrote: All knowing list peoples - do we have an internet techy out there who can advise how to access a UK-based proxy server for us continental and foreign listers, so we can hook into it, then follow the link to Radio Leeds and get the comms from the matches that aint deemed worthy of satellite broadcasting? ozPete ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/le edslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org MARCHING ON TOGETHER ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/le edslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org MARCHING ON TOGETHER ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/le edslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org MARCHING ON TOGETHER ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/le edslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org MARCHING ON TOGETHER ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/le edslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org MARCHING ON TOGETHER ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/le edslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org MARCHING ON TOGETHER ___ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe,
Re: [LU] NON-LU: Techy help - UK Proxy
But it can be streamed. So it defeats the object of a UK proxy server.
