I'm sure the areas of Madrid I list below were still the best back in the 90s but for places to go: - the entire street that is C/Cava Baja in the La Latina area and surrounds - the area up above C/las Huertas before the Plaza de Santa Ana - la Plaza de Santa Ana itself is a bit touristy but still OK, and from there towards Sol it's a sea of bars - el Mercado de San Miguel is worth a visit - C/Manuela Malasaña, Bilbao metro (up a bit from Tribunal metro) For Irish bars: - James Joyce, C/Alcalá opposite the ayuntamiento - Triskels, very small but good, near Tribunal metro - The Irish Rover, Avenida de Brasil, up north of the centre near the Bernabéu (spit spit!) Aged 30 and only played once this season so there some concerns for me there, however a big commanding centre half to go alongside Cooper could be just the player we need, not sure where this leaves Pearce ?
