Burnley were terrible and if we had a striker who knew his arse from his elbow we would have won even with luke murphy in the side. I see Sky have fallen into the old 'look at the stats' trap Once again the stats - apart of course from the ONLY one that counts- favour us on the face of it - 6 0 in terms of corners, more shots , 57% possession. Now for some teams this may indicate that they have indeed been the better team and do not deserve to be losing BUT since this happens with us time after time it clearly does not mean this What it means is that Burnley have gone a goal up and are now quite content to sit back and let us have the ball knowing that we have no cutting edge, no real pace or directness and that we will always be suspect at the back it gives Evans his 'we did not deserve to lose' excuse, but anyone who has seen us often knows this is all false. We cannot score and cannot defend and that is ALL that counts - the tippy tappy stuff, mainly slowly, in midfield counts for nothing We are easy to play against. Agree Dave, our inability to do the simplest things is very frustrating to watch. Murphy's short , square balls into touch or space and Taylor and Cooper's hopeless, probing passes into space are completely baffling. They are supposed to be professional footballers. Having said that I think Burnley are poor. Barton looks like an old man and some of their passing has been worse than Luke Murphy's. I can't see how we can score though with that line up ? I don't think their keeper has had a shot to save. I'm not sure how you can win a game with murphy and a poor mans Carlton Palmer in central midfield. Wood looks so isolated it's untrue and he actually looks a bit sharper since his return. we are awful. Since the goal we have had a lot of the ball but we carry no threat at all. So all the moves break down without any chance of us scoring and then when they break our inability to defend comes into play When a team cannot defend and cannot score then they are not going to win many !
