Re: [LU] totally non LU - scum of the earth

The only thing I have learned is that evil exists.
It's black and, white. Our generation of greys , understanding and cure is
wrong. It hasn't solved anything.
I'm unable to cope with the real new world. Because more evil is done by those
who define evil than those who perpetrate it. So much bad is done by those
claiming to be good .
So who am I to define evil and prevent it?
What these kids did is evil. Pure evil.
The answers I don't know. But defining the problem is a good start.

This post is nothing at all to do with LUFC or football but I am so angry and
upset I just need to vent a bit - so feel free to delete without reading
My 6 year old neice, Lexi, died last year after a long and painful terminal
illness. As you can imagine that is pretty upsetting and even more so for her
mum (Emma) Dad and siblings
Anyway I got home from a great night at cubs tonight to find my wife a bit upset
Emma had been to Lexis grave and caught a lad and his mates (they got away)
destroying the grave, they have smashed the ornaments, broken flowers and even
worse broken a small pink money box into which her 10 year old sister Ellie
puts one pence each time she visits, and they nicked the money - all 88pence of
it.
Somehow Emma restrained both herself and the kid concerned - how she did not
batter him I am not sure, till police came
The kid is 11 and his mates the same age - police put him back of the van and
tried to put the fear of god up him - the kid was hysterical, they said they
would do what they could but given his age etc
Emma is heartbroken as you can imagine - the cross has been ripped from the
grave and everything trashed - and wants to 'dig Lexi up and bring her home'
I know there is nothing anyone can say or do but I am so angry and upset words
fail me and I just needed to vent a bit
It makes you despair for humanity - they are old enough to know and understand
what they were doing for 'fun' and that it was so obviously the grave of a
little girl
Myself and my wife are going to shops tomorrow and will buy what we can to
replace the broken stuff but it will not be the same
Sorry to put this on any of you (if you have read this far)

Personally I really like the look of Shaughnessy. Looked really composed and
comfortable. Pennington too. I wouldn't panic if we didn't get another CB.

I'm not sure Pennington will have the experience to be a starter, I'm hoping he
was signed as the 3rd /4th C Back.
IMO, not signing an extra C Back and another striker in the January window was
the main reason we slipped away at the end of last season.  Hopefully Ekaban
fills the backup striker slot.

Also, we really need a replacement for Charlie Taylor.  At times last season we
had no left-footed players  on the pitch at all, and it cost us in terms of
getting round the back on that side, and had nobody to take free-kicks from the
right-central positions. Hopefully Alioski will fill the latter role this
season, but he does prefer to play on the right.  So if we are going to persist
with right-footed players on the left-hand side (Roofe, Dallas, Sacko,
Doukara), then the left-back needs to be left footed.

I think the squad is probably sorted as far as the front 6 is concerned, unless
there are any last-minute departures such as Wood or Hernandez.
Hopefully Roofe, Vieira, Hernandez, Sacko can chip in with a few more goals
from the same amount of playing-time this season.  Ekaban needs to get a few
and Doukara, Dallas, Antonnson if they get any significant game time.

Like you, I'm not expecting many goals from Bridcut, Phillips, Anita or O'Kane
and I've no idea what Klich can do.

The centre-backs got some important goals last year too.  That will need to
happen again.  Ayling looks like he might score the odd one, but I can't see
Berardi bothering the scorer much, and Cooper is more likely to figure on the
debit column in terms of goals and assists.

Overall I think the signings this summer will improve the squad, but I'm not
sure they make up for losing Bartley, Taylor or Garry Monk!

Cheers
KOT.

Re: [LU] What do you expect from the new season ? long and rambling ( had lots of morphine this week)

2017-07-26 Thread nat...@sky.com
I always like to be optimistic - last season there were lots of unknowns, the
manager (who let's not forget came very close to an early sacking) and a whole
team of new players - Green Ayling Barltey, Grimes, O'Kane, Jansson, Roofe,
Hernandez, were all players I knew next to nothing about, so any optimism was
'blind optimsim'
This year we know that Wood and Jansson are as good as anybody in this division
and that the rest of the squad is good enough on their day to win most games.
Big question is TC - can he cut it at this level, and can we replace Bartley
with someone who will keep the defence just as solid - is Pennington that man ?
We know Cooper is good for 89 minutes but will then cost a goal week in, week
out.

It is unclear how much game time the other new players will get but hopefully
any that do play will make us better - Anita has a good pedigree and Alioski
looes special
So I am fairly confident that we will be better than last season and therefore
, logically, we will make the play offs. I cannot really see us getting
automatic unless Saiz and Klitch really come to the party and / or Roofe shows
his talent every game and Vieira the same
So I reckon we will end up 5th or 6th - or we will sack the manager at
Christmas and end up 10th -12th
