I wrote this to my friend Gary Cooper earlier: Gary you were one of the first people I thought about last night, you know what I think about all those who milked our club, and as long as those involved now keep doing what they are doing I will be a very happy man. After the full-time whistle I sat with a cup of tea and thought about those I had spoken to about their Leeds United, as well as all the mad bastards who had their greasy fingers in the Leeds United pie. Some of them licked their fingers in greedy glee, some waggled them about in the pie in ignorance of what was needed and others just waggled them about pointlessly. There were some notable exceptions, I still have a great respect for at least one director from Ridsdale's board and I will never forget how bizarre the Professor was (meeting with him was pure comedy). I still count it as a badge of honour that the YEP wrote so "nicely" about me in an editorial when Bates took over (did not take them long to get their arses bitten though). The funny thing is that during all of the past 16 years the people involved in the Leeds United story you come to rely on, to admire are far more important than all the crappy ones. And some of them are fans of other clubs! Tonight I shall have a few with a mate who is also a life long Leeds fan. We will talk the usual shite and we will get the crack with our neighbours in the pub.
