My staff have been busy reading https://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/Football/Championship/Leeds+United and this is their latest update: Incoming * Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara - medical today * AS Roma winger Ola Solbakken - talks today * Werder Bremen defensive midfielder Ilia Gruev - medical today * Spurs defender Djed Spence - signed Already signed/loaned to us: * Ethan Ampadu (Chelsea) * Karl Darlow (Newcastle United) * Sam Byram (Norwich City) * Joe Rodon (Tottenham Hotspur) * Joel Piroe (Swansea City) On the bus into town for the last time: * Dremah * Gelhardt * Greenwood * Gyabi (allegedly) N.B. loan rules will apply though when playing Leeds. There is also quite a long list of players we did not get and of course those wh0 took the transfer option embedded in their Ortacontracts. Can anyone add/subtract any more names? Can’t see why they’ve let Greenwood go. Looks to be the best bet in the position they now call No 10 to me. Can also play a bit deeper, and seems to be the best of a very poor bunch on free kicks & corners. Another winger coming in? Must be about to lose 1 or 2. It is all rather exciting :-) I was pleased the club refused to compromise with the German guy Amiri who wanted a Get Out clause if we didn’t go up this season! No more contracts like that say the club. 50/50 re Greenwood - good deadball skills, but hasn’t really become a first teamer. Ditto Gyabi, but he looks a bit lightweight. As for Drameh, he may well make the grade, but his attitude is way ahead of his ability at the moment! Everything you wanted to know about Gruez but were afraid to ask: • Ilia was born is Sofia, Bulgaria • His date of birth is 6^th May 2000 and he shares the same birthday as actor George Clooney • The midfielder is 1.85m tall, which equates to 6ft 1’ • Gruev’s father, Iliya Gruev was also a professional footballer and won 13 international caps for Bulgaria • He made his first senior appearance for Werder Bremen on 23^rd December 2020, helping the German outfit defeat Hannover 96 3-0. • Gruev was part of the Werder Bremen side which won promotion from 2.
