I wish I’d registered/thought about this earlier as an option, as that’s a
great idea. Perhaps next season, assuming the Rhinos don’t get relegated, this
could definitely be a thing?

How’s your Dad Damien - I mailed him a couple of months back but haven’t heard
from him?

I also don't know if this helps anyone but the officious site has the nearest
train station to the ground as Putney. While this is true for mainline stations
a far closer station is Putney Bridge underground (District Line) which is no
more than 10 minutes walk to the ground. The walk encompasses a great cafe
across the road (proper 60s Italian owned cafe with old photos of Juventus on
the wall), the Eight Bells pub which was always decent, and the Church from The
Omen (in Bishop's Park) where the priest gets spiked.

Hi Damian!

I'm just reading this email now, so I've missed you yesterday and I'm not in
Madrid tonight (I live 25miles north of the city).

I'm sure the areas of Madrid I list below were still the best back in the 90s
but for places to go:
- the entire street that is C/Cava Baja in the La Latina area and surrounds
- the area up above C/las Huertas before the Plaza de Santa Ana
- la Plaza de Santa Ana itself is a bit touristy but still OK, and from there
towards Sol it's a sea of bars
- el Mercado de San Miguel is worth a visit
- C/Manuela Malasaña, Bilbao metro (up a bit from Tribunal metro)

For Irish bars:
- James Joyce, C/Alcalá opposite the ayuntamiento
- Triskels, very small but good, near Tribunal metro
- The Irish Rover, Avenida de Brasil, up north of the centre near the Bernabéu
(spit spit!)

Have a good one.

I managed to get in a mini-list meet with Guy Thornton in Amsterdam last
week. I hadn't realised Dave W. was there too so he didn't get invited :) -
it was very much a last minute thing (8 o clock phone call for 8:30 meet).

I can give more notice for this evening ;)

Anybody in Madrid at all? I used to come here quite often 15 or so years
ago and used to regularly meet up with Tim and occaisonally with most of
the active list when we played at the Bernabeu (my FR identity card came in
useful for buying tickets).

I'll be online until about 18h00 CET - drop me a line.

If you can't come, but know Madrid, send me any good addresses that you may
have because I think that Madrid has moved on a bit since the 1990s

A old school/new school list meet?

Splitter!

Seriously though, an old stylee list meet up sounds like a plan - reminds me
of the days when the Lards didn't just turn out at WorldNet. Made my Lards
debut in a 3-1 defeat by Arsenal at Welwyn Garden City some time in the 90s
(think we were still on the old vax.ox.ac.uk server then). Still remember
the class own goal Jabba scored that day, even though it wasn't entirely his
fault. Pitch had wires above it from which hung nets that could be used to
separate it widthways into three five a side pitches. Speculatively punt
from their defense; Jabba running back towards our goal to cover when ball
hit the wire dropped straight down and Jabba just ran into it, lifting it in
a perfect lob over our keeper.

I'd be up for it DRB, albeit I don't think I'm in any shape to construct a team
of 11 empty Grolsch bottles these days - maybe a midfield 3. And will I still
have to eat the 'lucky' MS pie?

da Rev (old skool)

Colin's a stalwart lister of old.  So NON LU is not required.

BTW, speaking of listers of old, as Betty mentioned in his earlier email, we

For those listers who joined after 2000, you might not know that this list
wasn't just a virtual gathering of Leeds fans, regular face to face interaction
occurred, before games, at games, after games, home and away.  There would
often be 15 or more listers having a drink together in the Adelphi/Britannia/an
away pub before the match.  How nice would it be to meet up again, and to meet
up with lots of newer listers who haven't met?

What about last home game of the season?    Or if we get to the play-off, the
home play-off leg, for a old school/new school list meet?
