No champagne, but was just sat here forlorn, thinking I should be half cut
by now (if not fully cut) celebrating in the pubs in Leeds.

Oh well.

Cellino did say he doesn't know English football yet so needs to get what he
knows quickly.  He did of course mention the price of foreigners vs cost of
English players too.

/divAt what stage is Cellino going to say that we have enough foreign imports
especially from the same foreign country (Italy)

If the runours about Viviani are true (12mth loan with view to permanent seems
to be the agreed 'wisdom' that means we could have a starting XI with almost
half coming from Italy (albeit that Doukara is Senagalese / French he speaks
Italian and has been playing over there + Berardi is Swiss but again from Italy
football wise)

Silvestri
Berardi Lees Pearce Taylor
Bianchi Viviandi Murphy Byram
Doukara Smith

(total guess at the English players who will be picked)

We are still likely to sign another centre back and (hopefully) a top stiker
and apart from Hudson (?) all the names we are linked with play in Italy

I know that 3 are now Leeds players and the other 2 long term loans, rather
than the Watford 'experiment' but surely there comes a time when we need to get
home based players too ?

On another note the club seem to have upset fans with the ticket prices, albeit
many are appeased when they realise that this is the pay at the gate price and
the 'real' price is £5 less, bad PR in the way they have advertised it. For me
it should have given the lower price and then in the small print put it is an
extra £5 to buy on the day and perhaps explain why.

We are certainly moving things along let's hope in the right direction - fans
do seem impressed with Viviandi (and to a lesser extent Silvestri) but not sure
what this is based on

Not that I really care that much, but it's no wonder that England struggle.

Can you imagine a struggling Serie B side full of journeymen English
players, and a handful of Italians? Or any respectable 2nd tier in any
country for that matter? How many English players now play overseas? ONE.
Fraser Forster in the highly competitive Scottish Premier. Ashley Cole at
Roma doesn't even count anymore.

What I fail to understand is why English players go for 5-10 times more.

If lalana and shaw were Croatian or something they would be a few million.

Can't be the language as foreigners speak good English and there is no
guarantee they will settle in merseyside and Manchester after living on the
