LL:URL: East Timor petition

1999-10-03 Thread GRN State Co-convenor {Gurm Sekhon}

The Australian Greens are circulating a petition demanding that the
United Nations immediately establish an International Criminal Tribunal
to investigate the role played by the Indonesian government, the
military and militias in the atrocities committed in East Timor and to
prosecute and punish those found guilty of these crimes against
humanity.

The petition can be found at:
http://www.altnews.com.au/greens/timorpetition/

Since its launch a week ago, 1200 people from 32 countries have added
their names to this petition so far, including a hundred from Portugal
and a few from Indonesia.
