On July 26 1953, Fidel Castro led a group of combatants in the first
revolutionary action against the brutal Batista dictatorship. Although 
this action was unsuccessful, six years later, members of the “July 26 
Movement” led by Fidel Castro and Che Guevara would begin a revolution 
that would topple the Batista dictatorship and eventually establish 
Socialist Government in Cuba.

Aleida Guevara is Che Guevara's eldest daughter. She is a Cuban-based
pediatrician who has served as an international doctor in both Nicaragua
and Angola in the 1980s. She has emerged as a prominent figure in the
anti-globalisation movement, and will be speaking in Sydney for
the first time.

Hands of Cuba! - Public Meeting

6.30pm CFMEU Building, 10-12 Railway Parade, Lidcombe (opposite Lidcombe
railway station)

The public meeting will feature talks examining the current 
international climate and its impact on Cuba, so-called human rights 
violations and the campaign to free the five. There will also be a 
special video presentation on five's case.

Entry by donation.
Food and drink available.

This is a unique opportunity for you to support Cuba in the most direct
manner by working for a few days on a constrauction site or by picking
fruit.

During the tour you will experience closely the cultural, political and
social conditions in revolutionary Cuba.

Main features of the Brigade include: working with Cuban people, 
visiting local schools, hospitals and factories, visitng provinical 
centres, talks by prominant Cuban speakers, homestays with Cuban 
families and a wide variety of cultural activities.
