LL:DDV: Anti War Rally this Saturday OCT 13 2pm Arts Centre Foyer

2001-10-11 Thread Web Administrator

STOP NUCLEAR MISSILE DEFENCE

CLOSE PINE GAP

NO TO WAR

Victorian Arts Centre Foyer 100 St Kilda Rd Melbourne then marching to the
US Consulate 553 St Kilda Road

GLOBAL NUCLEAR DISARMAMENT

A NUCLEAR FREE AUSTRALIA

NO TO RACISM

NO NEW NUCLEAR ARMS RACE

October 13 is the international day of action against nuclear missile
defence. This mad plan by the US has committed 130 billion dollars to a
plan that cant prevent nuclear attack. It will not stop nuclear terrorism.

In light of this Nuclear Free Australia has initiated this rally.

Never has a nuclear free Australia been more important. There is little
doubt that Australian Uranium is being used in depleted uranium being
dumped on Afghanistan. The global positioning system, of which the US base
in Australia, Pine Gap is part of, is being used to pinpoint and guide the
bombing in Afghanistan. Lets not mince words this makes every Australian a
terrorist target.

The Australian government is one of the most enthusiastic supporters of
NMD. In order to overwhelm any US missile shield countries like China and
Russia will develop new and more powerful weapons that can evade detection.
This can only lead to a new nuclear arms race.

We must begin to mobilise against Australia's participation in the entire
nuclear industry and our all the way with George W approach when it comes
to US wars and US desire for absolute military superiority over the whole
globe.

Nuclear Free Australia.

Meetings Tuesdays 7pm Activist space RMIT student Union.
