Re: Woodchuck Dust Collection

2017-11-29 Thread Richard Ellis
Hi Tim,
Why I asked,, was because, at the Woodworking Show over here the CNC Legacy
that was being demonstrated was well covered in brushes around the cutter,
I just thought it a good idea.

Hello

this is a new walking stick that I made for a gentleman.

The wood is "Brazilian cherry" stained red mahogany.

the tapper goes form 3/4" x 1 1/2". the pitch is 4 1/2" pitch. with a 1 1/2"
roping router bit. and a 3/4" core-box bit for the cove.

The top is a round floating compass, resisted into the top and glued in place.

The wood is VERY hard and dense it has a good feel to it.

Now I will have to wait to see if he likes it? I was given a lot lea way on
this project.

I will find out tomorrow.

any and all comments are as always, Welcome.

Re: NEW VIDEO on YOUTUBE

2017-11-29 Thread MWF
Russ,Thanks for making and sharing these videos. You hit upon one of THE MOST IMPORTANT aspects of woodworking; Dust control / filtering the air.It is quite possibly the MOST UNDERRATED hazard we have in our shops/work area.  Unless you want to die prematurely or at the least suffer respiratory issues - you MUST keep the air in your shop clean! (Or invest in an alternative breathing/air supply system.I know several years ago, a Group Member posted a chart showing the hazards/dangers of the sawdust from a long list of woods.  Some are Very hazardous to our health - others less so.Thanks again.Mac-Original Message-

Nice job Russwhat kind of over-head clearance do you have, between your work
station and the top of the Legacy? If I were your I would think of adding LED
lights and skip the reflective foil.
Keep up the good work. And Thank you for posting AND  sharing your ideas ...  ;-)
