Re: REVO POWER

2018-04-09 Thread Tim Krause
I don't see much of an advantage to using magnets to hold the pulley to the
gear.  I would be concerned that as speed increases, the pulley could come off.
If your pulley is held on by the spindle screw and you have a couple index
pins poking through the main drive gear, I think you got a solid idea.

$175 for a 4 x 8 unit, the unit can hold 600 pounds (Have to check that your
ceiling can) But you could place a lot if you have the ceiling clearance

I like it! It kind of looks like the new system Curtis is using to lift and
lower his mill ends. Great minds, right?

Dinner table legs profile

2018-04-09 Thread Harvey
Today, my wife asked me to build her a new dinning room table.
She showed me several plans that she likes, then asked if I could make
dinner table legs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Re: Dinner table legs profile

2018-04-09 Thread Harvey
Mike

I was looking at something like this

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Artesian-Maple-Table-Leg-Actual-2-75-in-x-29-in/3502288

I downloaded a picture of one of the legs and I was going to try and cut a
profile in Vcarve in order to get dimensions.

Thanks

Harvey

Re: Dinner table legs profile

2018-04-09 Thread Richard Ellis
Hi Harvey
It depends on what model LOM you have, CNC??? or old Woodchuck.
With the right cutters that leg is fairly easy to do. The only difficult
part of the leg for me to do *is the small tapers* on the bottom part of
the leg.
Anyway well worth tryingif at first you don't succeed try and
try again- that is what I do with my Revo and I make loads of
mistakes.
Someone will probably tell me the best way to do the small tapers that are
shown on that leg.
