Still seeking info regarding the types of material used as the "tires" on
casters. Some material is better than others - as well as some "brands" may be
better than others.

There of course are many sizes and styles - but probably fewer choices when it
comes to the tyre material (for those in the UK). I know for sure that there is
at least one material that develops a flat spot (that may never come out?) if
it sits too long in one position. That's definitely one you don't want to buy.
I just don't know/remember what material the wheel has as its "tire".

Have a great evening, all.

Greeting all,

When searching for caster sets, it seems that everyone has/sells "the best

When I look at the material the "rubber tire/wheel" is made out of - it seems
there are 4 or 5 products used for the "tire".

I have had casters that weren't worth having - as they developed flat spots and
"bumped" as the rolled.

Has anyone experimented with the various brands, styles, and materials - and
have a recommendation?

I know many LOM owners also own a Shopsmith (or three). Shopsmith's original
wheels/casters and nothing to brag about. I am looking at replacing them as
well. They claim their "upgrade" casters are GREAT. Are they? I do like (and
appreciate) the demo video and chart they made showing the ease with which the
upgrade wheel/caster kit rolls compared to the OEM.

Anybody fond a 3rd party that makes a suitable replacement for the OEM SS
casters?

Thanks.

Re: Casters / wheel kits - questions

2020-11-01 Thread Donald Donley
I used the casters sold by WOODCRAFT and was completely satisfied - nice
that they locked the base as well as the wheel - perfect fit when
purchasing the one with the stud - 3/8" or 1/2" - call Harrisburg, Pa.
Woodcraft and ask for Nathan (One of the Owners) great guy and he will send
out exactly what you want - tell him that Dr. Don recommended him to you

Casters / wheel kits - questions

2020-11-01 Thread M.W.Foscue
Greeting all,I'm looking at making several cabinets and machines I have mobile. When searching for caster sets, it seems that everyone has/sells "the best casters for you".When I look at the material the "rubber tire/wheel" is made out of - it seems there are 4 or 5 products used for the "tire".I have had casters that weren't worth having - as they developed flat spots and "bumped" as the rolled.Has anyone experimented with the various brands, styles, and materials - and have a recommendation?I know many LOM owners also own a Shopsmith (or three).  Shopsmith's original wheels/casters and nothing to brag about.  I am looking at replacing them as well.  They claim their "upgrade" casters are GREAT. Are they?  I do like (and appreciate) the demo video and chart they made showing the ease with which the upgrade wheel/caster kit rolls compared to the OEM.Anybody fond a 3rd party that makes a suitable replacement for the OEM SS casters? Thanks.Mac

November 1st. Who wants a Legacy Design kit?

2020-11-01 Thread 'Curt George' via Legacy Ornamental Mills
Hello everyone.
Who wants to win a Legacy Design kit?  In the past a number of our group were
all looking to buy one.  Since I found one.  This could be a good chance that
someone here could win it.What I would like to do, This month, Whom ever posts
the most ,will win this design kit.
The Google system counts every posting everyone makes, So you don't have to
make your own topics, if you don't want to to win this design kit, all you need
to do is correspondence with the group. By sharing ideas we all grow, by
covering the ideas in more detail, gives up more to think about.  So as I see
it, this will be a win, win... for everyone. NOW lets keep this on the Up and
Up. Lets have some fun, and start talking. ;-)
