2018-03-31 Thread Richard Ellis
Hi Curt
I will take a picture of the Revo desk top set -up and post it for all to
see and remark on ?? and what the large drawer can hold.
Yes plates of ply on a shaft is a good idea, save on the scroll saw work,
---don't know why I bought it???

Hello Richardyour idea just might work? If I were to try it, I think I would
try putting a number of plates on a shaft, (Plastic, plywood, hard wood...
should all do nicely.)  I would think if you make your indexes, and everything
is cut uniformly. I see no reason why all your (its called pad cutting) gears
would not mesh up correctly. Again I have no first hand info. but I do think it
would work.
About your Table mounted Revo,  If you don't succeed, Try,Try again.  ;-)
Perhaps you could make your own table?  This way you could make your own show
piece, barely twisted legs and all...
Dont ever give up!Have a good night.

A good quality ply I think is best with gears makes the teeth stronger and the
expansion of the timber doesn’t make the gears tight

That is what I used and was recommended when I made a all wooden working clock
