Re: Note to all Members (New and old...)

2024-02-04 Thread 'Curt George' via Legacy Ornamental Mills
I do like this idea.If you could show more info. I for one would like to see
it. ;-)
The Ornamental Mill. (both the Wood Chuck and latter Legacy's) are both a world
ahead of the wood lathe.but sadly they are not the quality of those Old
Ornamental lathes. who where built by old world craftsmen/machinist.  A steel
lathe might be a better platform to start from, if I wanted to make my own
Ornamental lathe.I have chosen the Legacy, It can and dose offer a lot to most
wood workers that they could not get  in years past, not until the CNC's hit
the market. For me, I am trying to force my skills to grow, pushing myself to
attempt to do things that are most old world. that people just don't see today.
This quote comes to mind.  I have the liking of Escargot and Champlain, But a
budget that can only afford  peanut butter and jelly sandwich's.   ;-p
I try to do the best that I can do, with what I have.
Have a good day. ;-)

Note to all Members (New and old...)

2024-02-04 Thread 'Curt George' via Legacy Ornamental Mills
Hello Everyone.
Just a note to all, We have some NEW People here on the group.Even though you
are approved to become members, your posting still need to be approved (by Me
or Tim K.) to have full access to the group.  Please post a note/message to the
group as soon as you can. As a General rule of thumb, it takes three to four
posting before you can be granted full access to the group. So I ask everyone
to post an introductory message to the group, in this way everyone can get to
know you. and start you way to becoming a full member to the group.
To those "Lurkers" out there.  With out commentary our group can not function
as it was meant to be.Google no longer sponsors Groups. so even though we are
still here. many of the resources we once had are no longer open to us.It has
been a fear, for a while. If we don't keep our group active, we may find one
day that Our group could be disbanded. So Please drop us a line or two, Even
though you may not be using the Legacy as much as you like. Ideas, Projects,
and problems you may have run into, are all still important to us.So again, As
a General rule of thumb, I feel that there is no such a thing as a dumb
question. If you don't know, then there is a very good chance others in our
group will not know, either.  If for some reason you don't want to post to the
group. Please feel free to contact me (E-mail,   curt.geo...@yhoo.com) If I can
not help you , I will post your question under my name, to see if others in the
group can .
So in short. POST when you can, and keep an open line of commentary, so we can
all learn from the experience.
