I am interested in the Legacy attachment as well. The plans from my
previous link were for a stand alone machine.

Re: There's Gold in them, there hills

2009-08-13 Thread curt george

Cheers! here is to you, Mac. ;-)
Im afraid to say, that's all the I can afford do with the profits on this
round of prospecting. Gold rich, "NO" But I did have a Great time, and
learned a lot, while doing it.It was for me a "great exacape", and a chance
of a life time to do something completely different from the daily norm, for
me.
I talked to Dr. Courtland Smith a while back ago.(trying to get him to join
this group.) He seems to be a very nice man, And I realy like many of his
ideas. but sadly he did not want to join this group. ;-( His attaché to
detail and his ability to get the most out of his Legacy, is absolute
Awesome.
Yes I've seen the MDF Rose engine lathe, and it is pretty Cool. and looks
easy to make. Perhaps someday I will get around to making one my self?
The comments that I made to Tim, was more or less an old topic. It started a
while back, when Tim made his Wave attachment, I liked the attachment so
much I also made one for my Legacy. I honestly believe that that idea, and
Jig. that Tim made realy unlocked many possibilities that the Legacy has to
offer, that no one saw before. I absolutely love my attachment, and find many
ways to use it,when I can. This simple jig, allows me to make designs that
are not seen elsewhere.
My hope by nagging Tim, is to get him and others with in this group, to
start looking "OUTSIDE the box" (so to speak) there are so many
possibilities that could be done, and with the talent and resources that we
have with-in this group. Anything is possible. All we need to do is to, get
people to start dreaming of the possibilities that are out there, and then
to get people to shair there ideas,so we all can grow. That has been and
will always will be my main reason why I am here (with-in the group), I want
to grow and learn to become more than I am, as a wood worker.
Woops! (look at the time!) I have to go!
have a Great day.
talk to you latter.

Hi TIM,and welcome back CG.Tim john magill has designed and posted
plans for an MDF.made rose engine I built one it was fairly cheap,he
also sells all the components to finish the job and at very reasonable
postal rates if you live in America that is,look in youtube under rose
engines and open John magills site,
Hi CG. I'd be very interested to see if you can make a follower that
could give fairly sharp copy in wood, after all it shows in Legacys
turntable video making
a nice round rosette so there must be scope for making Ornamental
cuts, look at some of the work on the site by Dr.Coultard.that's the
kind of work I would love to do and will with the help of my very good
supplier of cutting tools ROGER, he imports to the U/K.and is most
helpful,so just trwal the site and see, some great work, glad you're
back and Gold rich now, don't forget the boys when your buying a
round,MAC.

Good morning Tim
Perhaps you are correct, on the amount of play within the machine. I keep
forgetting what the Legacy was made for, It is not an all-purpose machine, it
was designed to a few things very well, and as long as I stick within those
parameters everything should work its self out just fine. The problem is, I like
to push those limits, and to see what is possible.
