[LegacyUG] Legacy charting update
I understand there has been a recent update to Legacy charting. I have Legacy 7. In order to get the update, do we update it separately (from Legacy) or do we update Legacy and as a result, the charting aspect is included? I do wish that Legacy would come up with a Legacy version for the MAC - then I could bid adieu to Windows altogether! I've had this iMac for about 90 days and have had less trouble with it than I hoped for - I was constantly having to 'tweak' the PC's I had and it has been a blessing to just sit down and begin using a program without all the hassle. Bob Janis L Gilmore wrote: Roger, I am running Legacy (with Fusion, OS 10.5.5), on both a 24 iMac and a MacBook Air (very limited hard disk space), and have not had any such problems. Is the virtualbox to which you refer the Windows simulator? If so, you may want to try Fusion to see if the simulator is the problem. Janis Walker Gilmore On 11/5/08 3:36 PM, Roger Wells wrote: Ron The problem I am having is that I go into options and set the background color to blue. Some times when I start Legacy back up the color is back to the old light green? color and I can not get the blue back until I reset it in the options. I do not seem to have any problems with other parts of Legacy but loosing this makes me concerned. I want to make sure I am not losing something else. Since I am kinda new to Mac and virtualbox I am trying to figure it out. I thought at first it was loosing a file but as I look the files are stored in the Legacy folder. I was hoping these usr files could be in the same folder as the data but I guess not. I have all of my data files on the Mac and link to Legacy using shared folders. Is there a way I can move the usr files? Re: [LegacyUG] How do I do this
I would go Search - Find and enter the name Hartfield in the surname field. That will make a list of everyone with that name. Then go to Options - advance tagging and tag everyone in the search list with an unused tag. Then Reports - Name tags, and create a report of all your tagged individuals Warm regards :-) Alastair Lack Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp

Re: [LegacyUG] Using Legacy on Mac
Bernard Doddema wrote Legacy is Access-based? Interesting. You are obviously quite new to this list as this fact is often referred to - perhaps a little obliquely in that someone is usually saying you can't do it in Legacy but you can if you open you file in Access. You need at least Access 2000 and if you are quite familiar with Access and how it works, it can often be very handy to do some advanced manipulation. Mind you, not as often necessary, I find, now we have some of the advanced capabilities of Legacy 7. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
