RE: [LegacyUG] Writing papers, IGHR, etc

2009-03-25 Thread Ann Barry
I am taking the NGS Home Study Course and wish to write an article about the
55 people who signed an 1838-1842 quilt. I am relatively new to genealogy,
but not to research or analysis. A major focus of research is Delaware which
had no vital records until 1913 which means I need to employ good techniques
to find information.

Good luck on your responses.

Ann

To honor the objections of other(s) on the list, please do not reply on-list
to my questions about genealogical experience. I think it would be
interesting to know, to compile some stats, etc.

However, I have no desire to alienate my fellow list members. And in any
case, perhaps they are right. Perhaps it is somewhat off-topic.

I would welcome off-list replies, but won't necessarily expect them.

Happy hunting to all. My apologies to those whom I have offended.

RE: [LegacyUG] Embracing Change

2007-07-10 Thread Ann Barry
The file winmail.dat often appears when sending e-mail between Microsoft
Outlook and other e-mail readers. See this link on answer.com for more
details on what it is and how to fix it.

http://email.about.com/od/outlooktips/qt/et121705.htm

It is not a virus.

When CQ Quimet sent his message on the above topic it came with an
attachement WINMAIL.DAT
So did Paul Abel's response.
I understand attachements are not allowed
Are they sent in error or are they viruses?
I haven't opened them amd will delete both posts as well as the attachements
If the above people were not aware of the attachement then may I suggest
a virus check of their machines
